Born in England.

Married Dolly Sewell in 1905 and had a daughter Joan and a son John Ernst (Jack).

Left wife and family in England and moved to Canada with Alice Emily Sturm to whom he would later marry.

Eventually, found his way to Pasadena, California, via Detroit, where he and his five daughters (Josephine, Marguerite, Eleanor, Rosemary and Betty) with Alice lived. Alice had a tea house which I am told was torn down for the 210 Freeway.

He is buried with his second wife in Altadena, California. One of his daughters is buried nearby.

Dropped the “von” at some point as did other family members around the WWI time frame.

My immediate family found out of their existence when a family member, Adele I believe, picked up tickets at a Will-Call window and Betty Bibra was also had tickets waiting.

I brought his oldest daughter, Joan and his youngest daughter, Betty, back in contact very late in life. Joan traveled to California to visit with Betty.
